Role: Founding Pastor
What is your purpose or assignment in the body of Christ?
After years of trying to mimic what I saw work for others in ministry I soon discovered that what they were doing was not my purpose. I fasted and prayed for clear direction and purpose and soon learned that I was placed here to restore validity and confidence back to the House of the Lord. My purpose is to reach those who were once rejected and are trying to find their purpose. The assignment for me is to restore the function of the five-fold ministry in this area so that we begin to witness not only revelation but the manifestation of God's word and power in our lives.
How is your ministry impacting the community?
At Crossroad Christian Center we believe in four types of "REACHES" Up- Reach Down-Reach, In-Reach, Out-reach. When it comes to Out-reach, we believe that you will only be as strong as the community you're impacting. We adopted the theme this year "Impact-to-Imprint" believing that everything we did should be impacted enough to see God's imprint. We do a community service event once a month in different areas of Thomasville, GA. These event allow families to come out get free clothing, food, etc all while enjoying music, educational exhibits, and the opportunity to gain salvation.
If the nine fruits of the spirit were on a tree (love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control), what fruit would you say would easiest for you to reach?
I would say that joy would be the easiest to reach because joy is something given that is not predicated upon what's happening, that would then be happiness. But I have discovered that joy is the presence of happiness in the absence of happiness. I use this to help promote joy to those that I come into contact with on a daily basis.
Which one would be the hardest?
I think the hardest for me at times is being faithful. The reason I say that is because in being faithful the struggle often happens when you don't the results you expect fast enough when you feel like you've waited long enough. However, to with my inconsistency in being faithful I also cling to the promise made to those who are faithful and that is being faithful over a few thing to become ruler over many.
In your experiences with ministry, what word(s) would you have for someone who is still trying to find who they are in Christ?
I would first tell them that the desire to find their identity in Christ will mean that they first lose their own identity. For the bible lets us know that if any man be in Christ he is a new creature. So there first has to be an introduction to Christ, then I'd tell them to build a relationship through reading, fasting, and prayer. This opens the door for two way communication between us and God. Then lastly, I'd encourage them to know that every down fall, pain, and penalty they experience is ultimately the birthing canal of their identity.
There are people who are searching for a church home. How would you invite someone to your church?
I would introduce myself to them and tell them about the ministry and some of the things we have going on. I would also find out what they are looking for in a church home and explain the areas we have that would best meet their needs. I would invite them to one of our worship services where they would have an opportunity to fill out a visitors card. We would respond to them within 3-5 days.
