It is fascinating that Scriptures written a few thousand years ago are so relevant and even anchoring for our businesses today; that applies to large or small businesses equally. The Scriptures should be an integral part when you develop your business plan, providing the stable guidance we need and seek in business just as it does in our daily lives. There are so many demands, so many facets and challenges, even perceived opportunities in business that its is easy to get off track, so easy to loose our bearings and our God perspective, particularly when we set about developing the business plan. In developing our plan, sometimes God wants, even requires, us to take a step back from our business so that we can hear clearly from Him.
Owning your own business is no joke. It takes lots of effort and hard work. Sorry, folks, it’s not just about having a passion. Passion is definitely needed, but so are a few other key elements, namely drive, determination, vision and faith; they will be so absolutely necessary to making your business a successful one.
Let’s start with vision. Vision will be the hallmark of your business success. However, you won’t succeed if you have no idea of what success looks like to you. What is at the end of the road of all that hard work? Have a clear vision of success for yourself and for your business. Your personal vision is intertwined with your business success. Don’t hesitate to line the two up. And please don’t limit your vision, but don’t ignore setting the short term, attainable goals, either.
The next element that is so crucial is drive. Literally, drive will propel your business forward. In fact, drive will make you get out of bed every morning, not passion alone.
I know at times business can be frustrating and overwhelming to the point you think “God, am I getting anywhere” or how about “What am I doing?” Life can throw some hard curve balls and being the awesome and dynamic women we are, we hit them right back. But they keep coming and at some point you just want a break. So I want to share with you some quotes and scriptures that get me through.
When I began to say this in my prayers, it brought a sense of maturity because I am telling God that I trust that whatever he sends my way will only make me stronger and that he sees something in me that I may not see myself.
I hope theses helped you. I would love to hear some of your sayings. Please share.
